1. Tiento silvestris.
At first the drone of a Catalonian organ stammers out. Then barges in a conversation reminiscent of the first bars of the Who's Baba O'Riley - my first discovery of the sounds of American minimalism. Some other prog organs slide under one another. The clicking of a compressor compels an aviary dance, up to its finish. The organ resumes its meditation.

2. Tantolunden. Pluie, soleil. Sur la plage on se baigne. On s'y promène, on y joue, on y converse, on y mange et boit, on y sifflote, y orphéonne, on y danse on y danse on y danse tout en rond.
Tantolunden is a public park in Stockholm. Its slight hill is peopled with cabins and small gardens on yearly rental. Rain, sun. On the beach you may swim. There you may walk, play, chat, eat and drink, whistle, fanfare, and round round round you go, and round round round we go.

3. Pastorale n° 6.
A pair of nightingales hired by the ghost of Morton Feldman executes a night serenade. Their slowed down song enters into mimicry with more percussive instruments. The birds trill, the marimba beats. A thunderstorm passses by. Asleep, Ludwig nearly awakens.

4. Contakt.
An acid froth in the process of being consumed, the micro-sizzling of processors at work casts about for its song, invents it, loses it and resumes it. Vagrant rustles, rust and tonal hazes.

5. Unknown worries. Oui.

A dog worries her bone the way one chomps at the bit, in slow, regular concentration. Insects see to their business. Ludwig keeps on sleeping. In the background something bellows. Yes.
A slow jam between composers and piano players, République charts a space where John Cage, Morton Feldman, Michael Nyman and Thelonious Monk come to work together. The frothy energy of Contakt enters and is evoked time and again.
